Whilst the details are currently unclear, the 2025 Budget speech indicated that as from 2025, employers will be required to make a Voluntary Occupational Pension Scheme available to their employees. Employees would be automatically eligible to participate and contribute part of their salary into the Scheme, with the option to opt out of doing so should they wish.
Employers would not be required to contribute, but are encouraged to do so.
