When Can I Claim for Delayed Luggage?
- Your checked baggage is delayed for more than the minimum hours stated in your policy (e.g., 12+ hours).
- You have official confirmation from the airline about the delay.
- You keep receipts for any necessary purchases (e.g., toiletries, clothes).
What Expenses Are Covered?
- Essential toiletries and personal items.
- Temporary clothing if your luggage is delayed overnight.
- Some policies offer higher compensation for delays over 24 hours.
What’s Not Covered?
- If your airline compensates you directly.
- If your luggage arrives within the minimum delay time.
- Luxury or non-essential purchases.
How to Make a Claim
- Report the delay to the airline and get a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
- Keep receipts for emergency purchases.
